Scriptures: Exodus 20:8-11; Psalm 92; Hebrews 10:19-25; Luke 8:4-15
Prayer Lord we confess that far too often we are drawn away from what you would give us when we gather for worship; the preaching of your Word and the nourishment of you Holy Supper. Forgive us of our sin. By you Word and Spirit, draw us away from our restless labor that we might find rest in you alone. Merciful God, grant that, fearing and loving you above all things, we may never despise the preaching of your Word of life, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.

Scriptures Genesis 9:8-17; Psalm 25:1-10; 1 Peter 3:18-22; Mark 1:9-15
Prayer of the Day: Lord God, our strength, the battle of good and evil rages within and around us, and our ancient foe tempts us with his deceits and empty promises. Keep us steadfast in your Word and, when we fall, raise us again and restore us through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Prayer: O Lord we confess that we have looked for good and have searched for refuge outside of you and in so doing we have not feared, loved, or trusted in you above all things. Forgive us our sin. Grant unto us undivided hearts to fear your wrath and so avoid the evil that you abhor. Help us to love what you command and trust in your promises. Amen.

Sunday, February 11th, 2018

Scriptures: 2 Kings 2:1-12; Psalm 50:1-6; 2 Corinthians 4:3-6; Mark 9:2-9
Prayer of the Day: O God, in the transfiguration of your Son you confirmed the mysteries of the faith by the witness of Moses and Elijah, and in the voice from the bright cloud you foreshadowed our adoption as your children. Make us with the king heirs of your glory, and bring us to enjoy its fullness, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Make all who are baptized into Christ faithful in their calling to be your children and inheritors with him of everlasting life; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
